What does it cost to collect all your guests' photos?
Prices in this market run from nothing to about a hundred and thirty euros per event, and that gap is rarely about the quality of the photos. This guide shows what you are really paying for and which supplier is the better choice for which kind of party.
the short answer
Count on nothing to about a hundred and thirty euros for one event. The price depends mostly on four things: how many guests may take part, how many photos each of them may upload, how long the album stays online, and whether extra storage is billed separately. There are free plans, and for a small party they are often enough.
What are you actually paying for in this market?
Not for a subscription. Almost everybody charges once per event, so that is no reason to pick one supplier over another. What you buy is a set of limits, and every supplier puts those limits in a different place. Comparing on price without knowing where your own limit sits is how you walk into a wall on the night itself.
- Number of guests. Snappshot allows 40, 80 or 150 people, depending on the plan. Lense charges purely by guest count, from 5.99 euros at 25 guests to 99.99 euros at 500.
- Photos per guest. Lense gives 25 shots per person, PartySnappers 20, Quipic 10 on the free plan and 25 on the paid ones. That is the limit guests hit first at a busy party.
- How long it stays online. Sharetale gives 7, 14 or 30 days, Kiekje 30 days to 12 months, Lense 12 months on every plan.
- Storage in gigabytes. Sharetale bills by the GB: 5 GB on the 19 euro plan, 100 GB on the 79 euro one, and above the limit 0.50 euros per 100 MB.
- What falls outside. At Lense, unlimited uploading costs 11.99 euros extra and video 9.99 euros extra, on top of the price of the plan.

Are you the cheapest?
No, and it would be odd to leave that out on a page about price. The cheapest paid plan in the table starts at 5.99 euros for a handful of guests, and three of the services there have a free plan with a limit on photos, guests or days. What you pay us more for is what happens after that: no cap on guests or photos, full resolution, and an album that stays open long enough to catch the week after the party.
Where we sit differently: we put no maximum on the number of guests and no maximum on the number of photos per guest. The limit is the size of a single file. That is why a guest on the dance floor never gets a message saying their twenty photos are used up, and it is exactly the point where we come out more expensive than a plan for 25 people.
We are not unique in that either, and that belongs on this page as well. Sharetale and Knipsmig also set their limit on storage rather than on guests. The difference is what happens when you go over it: at Sharetale you settle the extra storage before you can download your files.
Pay once, and you see your page before you check out
You set the page up with your name, the date and one photo, and look at it before you pay anything. Only then do you pay, once, with no subscription. Colours, albums and texts you set afterwards, as often as you like. What the plans cost and how long each one runs is on what it costs.
So how do you choose?
Put two questions side by side: how many people are really going to upload, and how bad is it if the album is gone in a month. You do not need more than that, and those two answers rule out half the market on their own.
For a birthday with twenty-five people who each take a handful of photos, a free plan or the cheapest paid plan is enough. You pull the zip down and that is that. A wedding with a hundred guests is a different purchase: with a cap of fifty guests and twenty-five photos each you are out of room halfway through dinner, and the party is over before you notice. Look past the amount at how long you can still reach it as well. Thirty days sounds generous until you remember that your photographer's pictures are usually not even in by then. And if you are weighing this against hiring equipment: a photo booth costs several times as much and gives you something else, namely one spot people walk over to instead of photos of the whole evening.

What does EventSnap cost?
That depends on the plan, and the prices come live out of our system rather than out of a sentence somebody forgets to update. You will find them on what it costs. You see your page before you pay.
Is it a subscription?
No, you pay once per event. That goes for almost everyone in this market, though, so do not let it decide for you. Look at the limits and the retention period instead.
Do you have a free plan?
No. Three of the services in the table do, each with a limit on guests, photos or how long it stays up. What you can do for free with us is set the page up and look at it before you check out. And if it does not work, you get your money back: a week after your party, are there fewer than ten photos from guests in the album, then we mail you and send the whole amount back.
Does it get more expensive if more guests come?
Not with us: there is no cap on the number of guests and no cap on photos per guest. At Snappshot, Quipic, Kiekje and Lense it does, because there the guest count sets the price or the plan.
Does downloading everything cost extra?
Not with us: you pull the whole event down as a single zip, sorted per album inside it, at full size. With others, check whether something is added. Sharetale, for instance, has you settle the extra storage before you collect your files.
Why is one plan 5.99 euros and another 129?
Because they are selling different things. The cheap plan is a small party with a small group and a short retention period. The expensive plan is more guests, longer storage and sometimes an app of its own. So compare the limits, not the amounts.
Is hiring a photo booth not just as expensive?
No, that is a different order of magnitude, and it gives you something else as well. A photo booth gives you sharp pictures of people who go and stand in front of it. This gives you photos of the whole evening, including the moments nobody looks for a booth for. The difference is worked out separately.
