How to get every photo of your birthday without chasing anyone
You do not organise a birthday like a wedding. This is the version with as little work as possible: five minutes beforehand, one message afterwards, and everything at full resolution in one place.
Set it up on the day, or the evening before
Name of the party, date, done. The first step asks nothing more, and it takes five minutes at the kitchen table. You get a link straight away and QR cards as a pdf. Print two, one for the bar and one for the table, or print nothing and put the link in the group chat with the invitation.
The album can stay closed until the party starts. As long as you have not published, your package's clock is not running: the 45 days begin when you go live.
The group chat is the problem, and also the answer
Photos that arrive through the group chat are squeezed to a fraction of the original, and after a month they have scrolled away between the messages. That is exactly why you do this. But that same group chat is the best place to share the link: everyone is in it and nobody has to install anything.
So put the link in once, preferably before the party, and once more the day after. Whoever taps it lands on your page and sends the originals. They arrive at full resolution, and they stay.
Approval off, because you know everyone
At a birthday you know your guests, so photos can go straight into the album. That way everyone sees what comes in the same evening, and you do nothing at your own party. If something turns up the next day that you would rather not have, you remove it with one tap; it waits in the bin for a while in case you change your mind.
If you are throwing a party with many people you know at one remove, turn approval on instead. It is one switch, and you can flip it during the party.
Videos: the song, the speech and the cake
The moments you really want to keep are not photos. The song at the cake, your sister's speech, the dance floor at one in the morning. Guests send videos the same way as photos, up to 500 MB per file, and they arrive the same way: as the original, not a squeezed copy.
Turn on a television with the slideshow and the photos appear there while the party is still on. At a birthday that is what keeps people sending: they see their own photo on the screen.
What it costs, and why it is not a subscription
The entry package costs €19.95, once, for 45 days. No subscription, no limit on guests or photos per guest, and your guests never pay anything. If you want to keep the album up longer afterwards, you extend it from your dashboard; that is not a decision for today.

What people ask us about birthdays
Is this not overkill for a birthday?
It depends on what you want from the photos. For Friday drinks the group chat is fine. For a party you looked forward to for months, the difference is that you get everything back at full resolution, in one place, and can still find it a year from now. At €19.95 that is a simple call.
Can guests upload videos as well?
Yes, up to 500 MB per file. The song, the speech and the moment the cake arrives are not photos.
Do my guests have to install anything?
No. They scan the QR with the ordinary camera on their phone and land on a web page. No app, no account, no password.
Can I extend the album later?
Yes, yourself from your dashboard, by 3, 6 or 12 months. That works even after the term has ended: your photos are still there and your guests can look again straight away. So you do not have to decide today how long you want to keep it.
Can I just put the link in the group chat, without a QR code?
Yes. The QR code is nothing more than that link in squares. At a birthday at home, one message in the group chat is often enough, with the card on the bar as a reminder for whoever has scrolled past the message.
Does this work for a children's party too?
Yes, and then it is the parents who upload: the pick-up, the treats, the treasure hunt. If you want to see what comes in of other people's children before the rest do, turn approval on. That costs you one tap per photo.
How do I get the photos onto my own phone afterwards?
Per photo with one tap, or everything at once as a zip on your computer, at full resolution. That is the difference with the group chat: what you get back is the original, not the squeezed version.
Can I reuse the album for my next birthday?
Every party gets its own album with its own link, and you pay per party. This year's album can stay up as long as you like, by extending it from your dashboard.
